Assistance Programs for Students

There are programs across Ontario and nationally that offer exposure to the field of rheumatology, ranging from short electives to full summer scholarships. Please contact us for additional information.

Assistance Program for Rheumatology Residents

The Ontario Rheumatology Association offers its full support to residents who are looking forward to starting their career in one of Ontario’s many communities with current-or-anticipated needs.

Our Assistance Program for Rheumatology Residents will connect you with rheumatologists practicing in these communities, and offers financial grants for you to to visit and meet with local ambassadors so that you can get a hands-on feel for what it’s like to live and work in these areas. The program applies to any Ontario community in need and is not limited to the profiled communities showcased on this website.

Once you have decided where you want to practice, we will continue to offer you support by providing peer advice, easy access to OMA and CMA programs for starting a medical practice, and guidance on selecting a rheumatology-friendly EMR, courtesy of the ORA EMR committee.

Please contact us to learn more about our assistance program and services for residents.
