Peterborough has a rich economic base rooted in technology and manufacturing. The city is host to operations from large multi-national companies including PepsiCo/Quaker, Siemens, Rolls-Royce, and General Electric, in addition to numerous national and local firms. The Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC) network is one of the region’s largest single employers.
As is the case with most Canadian cities, small business accounts for a large portion of the local economy and there are employment opportunities across almost every industry. Peterborough’s unique placement as the gateway to Ontario’s cottage country offers plenty of additional opportunities related to the recreational, hospitality, and tourism industries.
