Dr. Averns trained and worked in the UK until 2006, when he moved to Canada to accept an academic appointment at Queen’s. Dr. Averns opened his clinic in 2014. He works in his local community and also flies north to treat patients in remote communities and First Nations reservations.
Dr. Averns is the current president of the ORA.
